This is an older example and some of the classes have changed. The JavaFX SDK Technology Preview is due out at the end of July, 2008 (just a few days from now), and it should have an example of how to create a JavaFX applet. You will be able to access the Technology Preview Release at http://JavaFX.com

The above code doesn't compile, because the compiler can not find any property called "content" on the applet class
